Here at the Muni Theatre we aim to provide a wide range of events, from comedy, classical music, live concerts and children’s shows, we have it all! Over the past few years the Muni has played host to big names such as - Peter Kay, Freddie Starr, Roy 'Chubby' Brown, Bill Wyman, Ken Dodd, Kathryn Jenkins, Dave Spikey, The Stylistics, Belinda Carlisle and Paul Young to name but a few. Since 1990 the Muni Theatre has also been the main stage for one of Europe’s biggest blues festivals – The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival, which is held every year over the August Bank Holiday weekend. We hope you will find what you are looking for and look forward to seeing you at a future event!
Soul Nights
Local Kings of Soul, DJs Roman and Ginger Taylor, will be joined by some top-class guests for another night of classic Motown and Northern Soul tracks.
This is a night of non-stop dancing to such legendary greats as The Temptations, Four Tops, Martha Reeves, Marvin Gaye, Edwin Starr, Smokey Robinson and Junior Walker.
Many of the dancers still do the spins and backdrops and with the Muni boasting one of the finest dance floors in East Lancashire, it seems the perfect place to practice.
So get out your flares and dancing shoes and join the ever-growing band of ‘soulies’ at the Muni!
